Rally to Neuhaus (Oste)June 14th, 1986
Dear friends,
having completed the necessary arrangements, we wish to let you have some information on our preliminary programme for your stay here in Neuhaus.
It will be noted that the programme items are far less spectacular than those presented at SAIL AMSTERDAM last year. However, the four of us and the 1,500 natives of our village can assure you of a hearty welcome and do hope you will find your stay here a pleasant one.
We should like to remind you that the fleet is meant to assemble at Lauwersoog on Sunday, 13th July, to depart from there very early on Monday morning – probably with first daylight, sun rises at 5 o’clock am, so bring your alarm clock on board – and arrive at Borkum Anchorage, not Borkum harbour, with the afternoon rise of tide. High Water at Borkum will be at 16.40 hrs. (4.40 PM).
We should be grateful if those wishing to approach via another route would let us know so that we have an approximate idea of how many yachts can be expected at Borkum. For details of communication, please refer to our last news bulletin.
We are very happy that so many crews intend to participate and look forward to meeting you in July.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME
| Saturday, July 19th | |
| 12:00 | Arrival of the Fleet at Neuhaus Yacht Harbour. Mooring. Musical Welcome by Neuhaus Music Corps. Official Welcome by the Burgomaster Sherry served at the harbour House (please bring your own glass) |
| 13.00 – 16.00 | Free time for crews. Hot showers etc. at the Harbour House. |
| 16.00 – 16.30 | Informal walk through the village of Neuhaus, a picturesque village on the banks of River Oste, former Royal Hanoverian port and customs post, partially built on the Oste dike. |
| 16.30 – 17.00 | Visit to the neuhaus distillery (Fa. ULEX Nachf.), possibility to taste the spirit (for braves only). Coffee in the adjacent café Alt Neuhaus. |
| 17.00 – 18.30 | Free time for crews. |
| 18.30 – ???? | ALCYONE CIRCLE PARTY in our garden. A tent is provided in case of bad weather, a highly unlikely condition. Menu: freshly grilled meat, beer and / or wine. Please bring your own crockery and cutlery. |
| Sunday, July 20th | |
| 11.00 – 11.30 | Service for crew members in the 17th century Lutheran church of Neuhaus, held in Dutch by Rev. Jan G. Kunst of Nederlandse Kerk in Duitsland (Dutch Church in Germany). |
| 12.00 – 14.00 | Convoy sailing (or motoring) from Neuhaus Yacht Harbour to Osten, Hotel Seefahrer. Barbeque (approx. 25 DM per person). |
| 16.00 – 18.00 | Back trip to Neuhaus |
| 18.00 – 19.30 | Free time for crews. |
| 19.30 – ???? | Farewell party at Festhalle Neuhaus. First show of the Alcyone Rally 1986 Video. Possibility to have a warm meal there. |
| Monday, July 21th | |
| Departures according to individual schedule. Car service is provided for those willing to buy provisions for their trip back. | |
