Dear members and friends of Alcyone Circle,

Confirmation Grande Finale Saturday 3th of February 2024
We are very pleased you’ll be present to celebrate with us the 60th anniversary of our association, at the same time saying farewell Alcyone Circle. Traditional by special occassions we’ve asked Renske van Driel also this time to make a final recollection souvenir of ceramic for all members and other guests visiting the Grande Finale. Her very last one for our association. A gift of the board of Alcyone Circle to remember.

We received a lot of spontaneous reactions on our serious call for financial support to guarantee the website for at least 5 years.
Thanks to all your generous donations we received, we’re able to keep alcyone-archive.org in the air till 1st of January 2030.
In this way the history of the Alcyone Circle and all data of the remarkable Gunning-yachts, her designer Ir. Max Gunning and her builders Fa. J.W. Valentijn & Zn. at their shipyard ‘Gerardus Majella’ in Langeraar will not be forgotten and won’t get lost till then.
Please note our meeting takes place in another hotel!
Landgoed Duin en Kruidhof in Santpoort came with additional and unreasonable group payment conditions we couldn’t accept. For that reason we’ve changed the location and found a more customer friendly and at least as beautiful intimate and small-scale chȃteauhotel.

The Grande Finale of Alcyone Circle definitely takes place in:
Chȃteauhotel De Havixhorst, Schiphorsterweg 34, 7966 AC De Schiphorst.
De Havixhorst is an old havezate from 1753 (in its current form) and has a quiet and cosy atmosphere. The havezathe is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a fine sculpture collection from artists like Pieter d’Hont, Eric Claus, Jan Bonner, Charlotte van Pallandt and many others.

Additional information about our very last Wintermeeting
Chȃteauhotel De Havixhorst is a small 5 star hotel with 13 hotelrooms.
The Junior suite (5 rooms) costs € 155, the Luxe suite (4 rooms) € 185.
Because we need all 13 rooms we’ll use also the 4 Grand Luxe suites.
31 guests have signed up for dinner and 27 guests for a night over.
Check-in time on Saturday for your hotelroom starting from 15.00 hrs.
At Sundaymorning a delicious breakfast will be served in the hotel.
We look forward to welcoming you between 17.00- 18.00 hrs. in room Het Schathuis right beside the havezate. Also dinner will be served there.
We’ve rented this room especially for our guests of Alcyone Circle.
For dinner we get a seasonal 4-course Chefs Menu ad € 63,50 p.p. included amuses. All guests receive the same menu.
If you don’t like fish or meat or have dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know a.s.a.p. so we can arrange an alternative for you.

Cancellation policy Chȃteauhotel De Havixhorst
We have taken an official option till October 20th for our Grande Finale on the 3th of February 2024 to be sure De Havixhorst is available for us.
If you want to change something, you must let us know directly.
This for the reason that we have to make a final booking and a payment in advancement for the number of dining guests and rooms.
Within 4 weeks before our planned meeting cancellation charges on your own costs are provided in accordance with the cancellation policy of the hotel. So please mail us in time if you are unexpectedly not able to come due to circumstances.

We think the ambience of the intimate and small-scale Chȃteauhotel De Havixhorst will surprise you and will be a fine experience for everyone.
